Sylvester Stallone is heading to Taylor Sheridan’s Kansas City

It looks like Sylvester Stallone is heading to TV as he is currently in negotiations to star in a new mob drama called Kansas City. The part will mark the first regular series role for Stallone in his 50-plus-year career.

Set up at American streaming service Paramount+, the show comes from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan and Boardwalk Empire veteran Terence Winter, according to Deadline.

Stallone will star as a New York mobster who’s forced to relocate to present-day Kansas City, Missouri, and is faced with the task of re-establishing his Italian Mafia family in the Midwestern city. Sal encounters several surprising and unconventional characters as he forges a path to power.

”Kansas City” will be produced by 101 Studios, the banner behind Sheridan’s ”Yellowstone” and ”Mayor of Kingstown” as well as the forthcoming ”Yellowstone” spinoff ‘‘Y: 1883”.

Sheridan, Winter and Stallone will executive produce alongside David C Glasser, Ron Burkle and Bob Yari of 101 Studios. Winter will serve as showrunner.

Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios, said, “Taylor is a prolific creator because of the multi-dimensional characters he creates and the complex worlds he builds. To be able to have the legendary, transcendent Sylvester playing one of these characters is truly a privilege. And on top of that, we have Terence producing the project with us, who is responsible for some of the most captivating, deeply respected television shows in history. We are thrilled that ViacomCBS has partnered with us to help tell this story.”
