Channing Tatum and Steven Soderbergh will return for a third Magic Mike movie
Channing Tatum is bringing us a third Magic Mike movie, which will be called. Magic Mike’s Last Dance. Steven Soderbergh will return to direct it. Gregory Jacobs directed the second film, Magic Mike XXL. Reid Carolin, who wrote the first two Magic Mike films, is also returning according to THR.
The original 2012 film was in part inspired by Channing Tatum’s experiences as a stripper in Florida, when he was 18 years old. Tatum said that he wanted to capture the atmosphere and energy of his past as a stripper, but that the film is fictional, which allowed them to create their own scenarios.
Plot details are unknown for the new film, but it is probably going to wrap up the Magic Mike story. It will premiere exclusively on HBO Max.
Gregory Jacobs will produce the HBO Max feature with Carolin, Nick Wechsler and Peter Kiernan.
