A new version of The Lost Boys is heading our way

Is it a new Peter Pan spin-off? No

Is it Henry, the mild-mannered janitor? No

Is it a remake of a much-beloved 80s movie? Could be!

Not sure what happened with that intro, but I will get things back on track. Next week I am off to see 1987’s The Lost Boys on the big screen, which I am really looking forward to. I have not seen the film in a few years so it will be great to sit in the cinema and watch it.

That made the news in Variety one of those strange little coincidences. Yep, another 80s movie is getting a remake nobody asked for (stay strong, always best to wait until the film is actually out before howling at the moon as you do occasionally get a good remake), but at the very least it should be better than the various sequels that went direct to video/DVD/streaming or whatever the current format it.

This new version will star Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place) and Jaeden Martell (Knives Out, Defending Jacob). Jonathan Entwistle will direct with Randy McKinnon (Static Shock) writing the new version for Warner Bros.

The original saw a mother and her two sons move to California where they got mixed up with a gang of Vampires who liked to eat Chinese take-out, hang from bridges and ride around on motorbikes. It also had a great soundtrack.

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger are producing through Automatik. Zac Frognowski and Josh Glick are executive producers.

Will it be good? Who knows, but Do you still believe? What would you like to see in The Lost Boys remake/reboot?
