Casting and first look revealed for Shattered

Silver Reel and Construction Film today announced the principal cast for the forthcoming action-thriller SHATTERED. Written by David Loughery (The Intruder, Lakeview Terrace) and directed by Luis Prieto (White Lines, Kidnap, Pusher), the film will star Lilly Krug, who has recently completed Swing alongside Michael Shannon, as con-artist Sky. Cameron Monaghan, best known for his roles in the long-running hit show Shameless and Gotham, stars as Chris, the millionaire who falls in love with her.

Rounding out the main cast are Oscar-nominated John Malkovich (The New Pope, Bird Box), as Ronald, a creepy landlord whose curiosity overwhelms him and Frank Grillo (The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, Avengers; Endgame) as Sebastian, Sky’s violent, manipulative stepfather. Sasha Luss (Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, Anna) plays Chris’s ex-wife Jamie, Ash Santos (Joe Bell, Swing) plays Lisa, Sky’s ill-fated roommate and Ridley Bateman (Shelter In Place) plays Willow, Chris and Jamie’s young step-daughter.

Divorcee Chris Decker is a wealthy venture capitalist who lives in a high-tech house of his own design in Montana, protected physically and emotionally from the outside world. His life changes when he meets Sky, a beautiful, mysterious young woman who draws him out of his shell. Love is in the air … or is it? After Chris is injured in a violent mugging, Sky moves in to take care of him, and her true agenda is soon revealed. Chris has become the victim of an elaborate heist and is suddenly a prisoner in his own home, cut off from help and at the mercy of a violent and psychologically disturbed killer, who intends to take everything from him – including his life. When Chris’s ex-wife and child show up, the stakes are heightened as the deadline to their collective death sentence becomes simultaneously shorter. The only guarantee of survival is to escape.

Claudia Bluemhuber (The Wife, Under the Skin, Eye in the Sky) will produce alongside Veronica Ferres of Construction Film (Crisis, Untitled Sandra Bullock Netflix Project, Salt & Fire), with John Malkovich and Luis Prieto also producing. Grindstone Entertainment Group, a Lionsgate company, will distribute the film domestically in the US and Blue Box International, a division of Capstone Group, is handling international sales. Barry Brooker and Stan Wertlieb will executive produce alongside Christian Mercuri, Roman Viaris, Gary Leff, Gero Bauknecht, Gerd Schepers, Florian Dargel, Alexander Jooss and Mike Leahy.

Written by Hollywood veteran David Loughery, SHATTERED keeps the audience guessing as a boy-meets-girl romance unravels into a nightmare. Production has just wrapped in Montana, with much of the action taking place in the luxury surrounds of a mansion in the exclusive Big Sky ski resort. The project is now in post-production, with expected completion in Autumn 2021.

Director Luis Prieto added: “From the moment I read the script, I loved the creative challenges and opportunities that SHATTERED presented. To take the audience on the journey from a romance film at the start to an all-out thriller by the story’s conclusion, was a big attraction for me, and when talent of the level of John and Frank came in to support Lilly and Cameron, I knew we could have a special movie.”
