A new image from the Uncharted movie shows Mark Wahlberg as Sully
Back in the day, the Uncharted movie was going to have Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake. Many things changed through the years and now Tom Holland (Spider-Man) is playing a young Nathan while Wahlberg is still involved as he will be playing Victor “Sully” Sullivan.
The film is acting as a prequel and showing elements from Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception where Drake meets his long time ally, Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg).
As you can tell from the new photo (via NY Times) above, Sully is just looking a lot like Mark Wahlberg. No trace of a mustache anywhere!
Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) is the latest director attached to the project, which also stars Antonio Banderas, Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle.
I am still not sure about this film. I mean, the games are great as we follow a Nathan Drake who has been around the block and met various ne’er-do-wells. The flashback scenes to the younger Nathan were, for me, the least exciting moments.
It is such a shame they never got their act together sooner so they could have had Nathan Fillion play Nathan Drake in a whole series of films. Throw in Bruce Campbell as Sully and it would have been gold! Still, we do have the rather excellent short film he starred in as the character.
Uncharted is an Arad/Atlas Entertainment Production, with Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad producing.
What are your thoughts on the new film?
