Ubisoft is working on an open-world Star Wars video game
With the creation of Lucasfilm Games it looks like EA will no longer have its exclusivity deal when it comes to Star Wars games. Many of you will breathe a sigh of relief over that.
Yesterday, I shared the teaser for the new Indiana Jones video game from Bethesda and MachineGames. Today, we have news that Ubisoft is making a story-driven, open=world Star Wars game.
It is still very early days on the project so not many details are known, so no word on the setting, time-line or characters involved. Julian Gerighty, director of The Division 2 and The Crew, will serve as the game’s creative director according to Wired, and the title will use Massive’s Snowdrop engine.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot described the upcoming game as, “an original Star Wars adventure that is different from anything that has been done before.”
I’d be happy with something along the lines of the Knights of the Old Republic or how about that 1313 game that got shelved were you play a bounty hunter?
What would you like to see in this new Star Wars game?
We’re thrilled to announce we are working with @Ubisoft and @UbiMassive to develop a brand-new, story-driven, open-world Star Wars adventure!
