There is a Dark Crystal Role-Playing Game heading our way

While we sadly won’t be getting a second season of the Dark Crystal Netflix show, there is something to look forward to in the shape of a new role-playing game.

River Horse, who brought us Jim Henson’s Labyrinth: The Adventure Game, is the company behind this new one. It will be set in the world of Jim Henson’s Dark Crystal – both the original film and the Age of Resistance series.

The adventure is being written by Janet Forbes of World Anvil and River Horse’s Jack Caesar. It will include a simple rules system and GM toolkit and a 100-scenes adventure, which can be played either with River Horse’s rules, or any other rule-set. It also features extended fold-out pages and transparency overlays; a toolkit with bestiary, tables and tips to create your own adventure; double-sided rules reference bookmark; and a fully illustrated map of Thra.

It will also feature illustrations by Brian Froud, Johnny Frazer-Allen, and Chris Caesar.

It is due out later this year.
