In The Earth – Ben Wheatley made a new horror movie during lockdown

Ben Wheatley’s (Kill List, Sightseers, The Meg 2) Rebecca is currently playing on Netflix, but it turns out he has also finished making am ovie during lockdown.

Called In The Earth, the film stars Joel Fry (Yesterday), Ellora Torchia (Midsommar), Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake), and Reece Shearsmith.

As the world searches for a cure to a disastrous virus, a scientist and park scout venture deep in the forest for a routine equipment run. Through the night, their journey becomes a terrifying voyage through the heart of darkness, the forest coming to life around them.

According to Deadline, Neon fully financed and produced the movie and will release theatrically in the U.S. next year.

I love it when a new film sneaks up on me and I am always up for a new horror movie from Wheatley. The image above reminds me of The Shining.
