Johnny Flynn is David Bowie in the new trailer for Stardust
David Bowie is one of the most seminal legends in music history; but who was the man behind the many faces? In 1971, a 24-year-old fledgling David Bowie (Johnny Flynn) is sent to America to promote his newest record, The Man Who Sold the World. Leaving behind his pregnant wife Angie (Jena Malone), Bowie and his band embark on a makeshift coast-to-coast promotional tour with struggling Mercury Records publicist Rob Oberman (Marc Maron).
The Emmy award-winning British filmmaker Gabriel Range (I AM SLAVE; DEATH OF A PRESIDENT) directs from a script written by Christopher Bell (Netflix’s The Last Czars).
The film stars British actor/musician Johnny Flynn (BEAST; TV’s Les Misérables) as the young David Bowie, Jena Malone (NOCTURNAL ANIMALS; HUNGER GAMES series) as Bowie’s wife Angie and Marc Maron (JOKER; Netflix’s Glow) as Bowie’s record company publicist, Ron Oberman.
Produced by Paul Van Carter and Nick Taussig of BAFTA-nominated Salon Pictures, STARDUST is being sold across the world by Film Constellation. Christopher Figg of Piccadilly Pictures is co-financing.
