Will Smith and Kevin Hart to star in a remake of Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Paramount Pictures is working on a remake of the John Hughes 1987 road trip comedy Planes, Trains & Automobiles with Will Smith and Kevin Hart set to star.
According to Deadline, Aeysha Carr (Brooklyn 99, Woke) will write the script.
The original film was a comedy classic. It starred Steve Martin and John Candy, both trying to get home for Thanksgiving. As well as being very funny, it was also very touching and still brings a tear to my eye.
There is currently no director attached.
I am not sure about a remake, but I do like a good road trip movie so we will have to see what they do with it.
Hart’s Hartbeat Productions and Smith’s Westbrook Studios will produce.
What are your thoughts on the remake?
I talked about the original in an episode of After the Ending (a very early episode so please excuse how nervous I may sound) and you can listen to that below.
