There is an Event Horizon TV series in the works

“Where we’re going, we won’t need eyes to see.”

Amazon and Paramount Television are developing a series adaptation of 1997’s Event Horizon. The film was directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and written by Philip Eisner.

This was the one with a spacecraft that disappeared, only to return years later full of evil and death. It starred Sam Neill, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Isaacs, Sam Pertwee, Joely Richardson, Katheleen Quinlan, Richard T. Jones and Jack Noseworthy.

I do love the film and, while I am excited about a TV series, I am not sure how it can be more than one season. Hopefully it will just be a well crafted, self-contained season.

Variety had the news that Adam Wingard (The Guest, You’re Next) is set to executive produce and direct the series.

Wingard will executive produce along with Larry Gordon, Lloyd Levin, and Jeremy Platt. Gordon and Levin both produced the film.

Do you think an Event Horizon TV show will work? What would you like to see in it and who should star?

I also covered Event Horizon in an episode of the After The Ending podcast and you can listen to that below.
