Diablo
Andrew Cosby is in final talks to write an R-rated animated show for Netflix based on Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo.
He tweeted – “I guess I can confirm I am indeed in final talks to write and show-run the new DIABLO animated series for Activision and Netflix. It’s very exciting and I hope to the High Heavens it all works out.”

Defending Jacob
Apple has given an eight-episode straight-to-series order to drama Defending Jacob, headlined and executive produced by Captain America and The Avengers star Chris Evans. Created and written by Mark Bomback (Planet of the Apes trilogy) based on William Landay’s bestselling novel, the limited series comes from Paramount Television and Anonymous Content. Oscar-nominated Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game, Counterpart, Jack Ryan) is attached to direct the series and executive produce. Defending Jacob is described as a a gripping, character-driven thriller based on Landay’s 2012 novel published by Random House. The book tells the story of a father dealing with the accusation that his son is a 14-year-old murderer – Deadline
Godfather of Harlem
Nigél Thatch, who received critical praise for his role as Malcolm X in Oscar-nominated Selma, is set to reprise the role in Godfather of Harlem, Epix’s straight-to-series crime drama, starring and executive produced by Forest Whitaker – Deadline
Stargirl
Brec Bassinger (Bella and the Bulldogs) will be Stargirl in the new DC Universe drama. The character is described as smart, athletic and kind. This high school teenager’s seemingly perfect life hits a major speed bump when her mother gets married and her new family moves from Los Angeles to Blue Valley, Nebraska. The CW Crossover Event
Jeremy Davies (Lost, God of War) has been cast as a bad guy in The CW’s annual Arrow-verse superhero crossover event. Davies willplay the role of Dr. John Deegan, a doctor at Arkham Asylum in Gotham City. In addition to Davies, Cassandra Jean Amell will play Nora Fries, the wife of the classic DC comics villain Mr. Freeze.
This year’s storyline heading to Gotham City. The crossover will start with The Flash on Sunday, December 9. Arrow will continue the story on Monday, December 10, before it all comes to an end in Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11.
