This piece of non-news has been going around the Internet during the night. I wasn’t going to mention it to be honest, but I saw some people were going on a rant saying Ridley Scott was trying to kill Neill Blomkamp’s new film. All the information is already out there, but it seems that we need to go over it again.

Okay, here is Blomkamp’s tweet that has caused the kerfuffle.

As I already said, we already knew this as Scott had said it would be out after Alien: Paradise Lost in a recent interview. Here is what he said about Blomkamp’s film:

I’m producing it. The design is for it to go out next, after this [Alien: Paradise Lost]. This will go out first. It’s more associated with Ripley, it’s a completely different angle, it’s more of a sequel. I’m coming in from the back end.

There you have it. Blomkamp is just confirming what Scott has said. His Alien film isn’t on indefinite hold. He’s just done all he can and now has to wait for Scott’s Prometheus sequel to get sorted.

Carry on with your day.
