The Random: Lethal Weapon, Timothy Olyphant, Snake Eyes, Ms. Marvel, Gotham, Neill Blomkamp, Willow 2, Young Justice and more

Seann William Scott (American Pie, Role Models) is replacing Clayne Crawford for series three of Lethal Weapon. Crawford been fired from the show after various issues. Scott will be playing a new character who folds into a partnership with Murtaugh (Wayans). This marks Scott’s first network series regular role.

– FOX has booked one last trip to Gotham, ordering a fifth and final season of the series. The news was confirmed by a network spokesperson, who added the final season will focus on Bruce Wayne’s transformation into the caped crusader.

Chris Evans (Captain America) will lead director Neill Blomkamp’s (Elysium, District 9) next film, Greenland, about one family’s fight for survival in the face of a cataclysmic natural disaster.

Kevin Feige has said that Marvel Studio’s are thinking of making a Ms. Marvel movie at some point – “We’re doing Captain Marvel right now. Captain Marvel‘s shooting right now with Brie Larson. Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort-of in the works. We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”

Machinima, a division of Warner Bros. Digital Networks, announced a development deal with Greg Russo, the screenwriter of two highly-anticipated feature films based on iconic video game franchises: the forthcoming Mortal Kombat from New Line Cinema and Screen Gems’ Resident Evil. Russo’s initial project for Machinima will be a live-action adaptation based on Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s survival horror game F.E.A.R. (aka First Encounter Assault Recon) for online distribution.

– Paramount Pictures has thrown a G.I. Joe spinoff movie featuring Snake Eyes into development, with Evan Spiliotopoulos, the writer of 2017’s Beauty and the Beast and The Huntsman: Winter’s War, in talks to pen the script. Brian Goldner is among those producing the feature based on the Hasbro toyline. Snake Eyes is the silent ninja commando that first appeared in the 1980s as part of Hasbro and Marvel Comics’ relaunch of the toyline, dubbed G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero – THR

Timothy Olyphant (Justified, Santa Clarita Diet) is in negotiations to star in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a drama set against the backdrop of the Manson Family murders – Variety

Ron Howard has teased there may be a sequel to Willow“I don’t want to give away too much, but there is a little talk of Willow,” Howard told the ComicBook.com “We wouldn’t call it Willow 2, I think it would focus a lot on Elora Danan, although Willow would have to be significantly involved. I thought about that movie a lot as I was working on Solo”  the director revealed “because there are certain scenes, especially around some of the Madmartigan stuff, was reminiscent of a character with that kind of swagger and bravado. And also some of the humor around some of the action in Willow was something I inspired to get into Solo.”
