Watch the Creature from the Black Lagoon: The Musical

Creature from the Black Lagoon is one of my favourite of the Universal Monster movies. I always loved the character design and we spoke about it in the After the Ending podcast.

It turns out there was a musical made based on the film, Creature from the Black Lagoon: The Musical at Universal Studios Hollywood. It ran between July 2009 and September 2009.

The show began with a clip from The Today Show with Matt Lauer, talking about the Creature. The premise was that Universal made the film based on a real creature, and a new team of explorers were on a second expedition to investigate, the principals being Kay, Mark & David (all characters which also appeared in the original film).

You can watch it below. It’s rather campy and has a few naff lines, but it is a bit of fun during this December day.
