Batman: The Animated Series Blu-ray Collection announced at New York Comic Con
Batman: The Animated Series will finally be released as a remastered Blu-ray collection in 2018 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The announcement was made on Sunday afternoon at New York Comic Con.
Fantastic news as it is still one of the best version of Batman ever seen.
Warner Bros. Animation publicist Gary Miereanu confirmed the news at NYCC, but there was no mention of what else would be in the release or how much it will cost. The panel celebrating the show’s 25th anniversary was attended by Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy, The New Batman Adventures Batgirl voice actor Tara Strong, and Batman: The Animated Series producers Bruce Timm and Alan Burnett.
This announcement comes after the Blu-ray release of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm earlier this summer.
Developed by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski Batman: The Animated Series debuted in 1992, and stands as one of the most acclaimed adaptations of comic books to another medium, including winning four Emmy Awards. The original series ran from 1992 to 1995, with follow-up series The New Batman Adventures airing from 1997 to 1999, for a total of 109 episodes.
