Cool Art: Video Store miniature by Andrew Glazebrook

Ah, the joy of wandering around a video store, looking at the covers of films and wondering which one to choose. Sadly the old video store is something that many of our younger readers may not have experienced. I am quite lucky as we have one, called Snips Movies, just up the road from where I live and it has a huge selection of films. It is a delight to watch my daughter looking at the various films and expanding her movie knowledge without even realising it.

However, Andrew Glazebrook is putting together this amazingly detailed model of a classic video store. It may well bring back memories of similar stores from your youth. I just love it, so many things to look at and still so much more to come.

Here is what Andrew had to say about it:

It’s 1/25th scale, so a 1.8m person would be around 72mm in height. And the model is made from Foamboard, Mountboard, Cardboard and Styrene Card mainly, and I’ve been working on it on and off for two weeks, no 100% sure of the hours put in! It’s going to have more interior work, lights, a full exterior and upstairs flat!
