The Crow will return with Jason Momoa

The have been plans afoot for many years to bring a new version of James O’Barr’s The Crow to the big screen. The 1994 Alex Proyas directed film starring Brandon Lee was a classic, yet the sequels didn’t build on what had gone before.

Over the years there has been talk of many actors playing Eric Draven – Channing Tatum, Tom Hiddleston, Luke Evans and Jack Huston are just a few.

It looks like things may have settled down as Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is set to direct Jason Momoa (Aquaman, Game of Thrones) as the title character for Relativity. Filming is set to begin in January 2017 once Momoa has wrapped on the Justice League movie.

O’Barr was initially very hesitant about making a new film for his very personal character, but he has come round to the idea, especially as they are going back to the comic book.

A while back there was word that Andrea Riseborough would be playing the big bad of the piece, Top Dollar. However, it remains to be seen whether she is still involved in the project.

According to The Wrap, Relativity is emerging from bankruptcy and The Crow reboot is a priority project for the studio as it looks to rebuild its reputation in Hollywood.

I am not sure about Momoa playing Draven, although he is very good at doing intense. What do you think about Momoa as The Crow?

We will just have to wait and see. It can’t rain all the time!
