Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters – The new book is heading our way

Premiere Publishing is proud to announce the publication of Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters. The ultimate behind-the-scenes companion to the hit 1980s classic GHOSTBUSTERS has been curated and written by filmmaker and journalist Claire Bueno, following the release of the documentary feature of the same name, by the brother and sister duo of Bueno Productions. The book is a cast and crew’s memoir of Ghostbusters, making it the perfect gift for the Ghostbusters fan in your life.

CLEANIN’ UP THE TOWN: Remembering Ghostbusters book is one of the most forensic deep-dives into the making of the original Ghostbusters film and a fascinating insight into the ambitious film-making period of the 1980s. An invitation to nestle among the tales and insights of 56 cast members, creatives and crew, readers are taken scene-by-scene through the making of the ’84 classic supernatural comedy, as told in their own words, as they reveal how they overcame numerous challenges to create one of the best-loved movie franchises of all time.

The book also features personal archives and details the making of the CLEANIN’ UP THE TOWN: Remembering Ghostbusters documentary, which was produced by Claire Bueno and directed by Anthony Bueno. Recognised as the most in-depth account into the making of Ghostbusters, the retrospective documentary CLEANIN’ UP THE TOWN: Remembering Ghostbusters is a global hit. The film has 5-star reviews from audiences worldwide and holds a 100% ‘fresh’ status on Rotten Tomatoes.

The extensive interviews with cast, creatives and crew captured for the documentary, some of whom are sadly no longer with us, are presented in the book for the first time in their entirety, enabling a wealth of material to be saved and shared from the cutting-room floor.

Through the 74 chapters, the book details the chronology of the film, with the full interviews being interspersed throughout, shedding a light on the different areas of pre-production, production and post-production on the film.

The independent production was 12 years in the making, and led the UK based siblings, director Anthony Bueno and producer Claire Bueno, on their own odyssey to get the film across the finish line.

Author and producer Claire Bueno said: “Producing and writing CLEANIN’ UP THE TOWN: Remembering Ghostbusters has been one of the most, if not the most rewarding experiences of my life. It has been an honour and a privilege to be entrusted with the testimonies of so many of the incredibly talented people involved in one of cinema’s most beloved movies. Making a movie takes an army, and there was so much to tell that once we finished the documentary, I knew immediately that these stories deserved to be heard in their entirety, and so the book was born. I hope audiences will be enlightened, entertained and enthralled with all the extras the book holds!”

CLEANIN’ UP THE TOWN: Remembering Ghostbusters book is available from 28 November from Amazon and Barn The Great British Bookshop, and book shops can order via ISBN code: 978-1-836903-43-7.
