PEDRO PARAMO not only pays tribute to Mexico’s most important literary work, it is also a tribute to love, one as powerful as it is macabre, capable of bringing the entire town of Comala and all its inhabitants down with it. Based on Juan Rulfo’s masterpiece novel, a man searches for his father, Pedro Paramo, in a town doomed by violence and the fury of a frustrated love.

Rodrigo Prieto, four-time Academy Award nominee who has worked on film such as “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “The Irishman,” “Silence,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Barbie,” “Brokeback Mountain,” “Frida,” and “Amores Perros”, makes his feature directorial debut with this Spanish-language epic for Netflix. The film is based on Juan Rulfo’s 1955 masterpiece of the same name.

It stars Manuel Garcia Rulfo, Tenoch Huerta, Dolores Heredia, Ilse Salas, Hector Kotsifakis, Mayra Batalla, Roberto Sosa, Giovanna Zacarias, Noe Hernandez, and Yoshira Escarrega.
