Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Rampage Jackson fight werewolves in the Operation Blood Hunt trailer
Quiver Distribution has announced that it has acquired North American rights to Operation Blood Hunt, the new World Warr II-era action thriller meets horror film from actor-director Louis Mandylor (3 Days in Malay, Blindsided) and writer Brandon Slagle (Arena Wars, Breakout). The film is produced by Daemon Hillin of Hillin Entertainment (Apache Junction, Death of Me) and executive produced by Landon B. Gorman of BGG Capital. This is the fourth project on which Hillin and BGG have partnered. The trailer and artwork for the feature have just dropped ahead of Quiver’s release of the film on Friday, October 4.
The film stars Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors, Quiver’s The Survivalist), mixed martial artist and former professional wrestler Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (Boss Level), Louis Mandylor (My Big Fat Greek Wedding series of films), and Sonia Couling (The War of Flowers).
Operation Blood Hunt follows prolific expert of the occult and whiskey, Reverend Conte (Jackson), and a ragtag group of military rejects as they venture to a remote island in the South Pacific to investigate the unexplained disappearance of several United States Marine Corps battalions stationed there in 1944. While initial intelligence suggests the culprit to be that of the Japanese Imperial Army, the group soon discovers, upon speaking with the island’s inhabitants, that the Marines may have been massacred by a group of Lycanthropes, known to most as werewolves.
“Operation Blood Hunt is a unique blend of World War II drama and supernatural adventure, and inspired by Daemon Hillin’s ambitious idea, I embraced the challenge of shooting this film in Thailand,” said actor and director Louis Mandylor. “Leading a talented cast and crew is an honor, and their dedication is what brings my vision to life. I am proud of what we’ve created and excited to share it with the world.”
