101 Films International announces sales of The Shamrock Spitfire

101 Films International, an Amcomri Entertainment company, confirms sales of the highly successful feature film The Shamrock Spitfire ahead of its official launch at Berlinale, from award-winning filmmakers and digital artists Ian Higgins and Dominic Higgins, founders of Pixel Revolution Films.

The true story of Irish World War II fighter pilot Brendan “Paddy” Finucane has been sold to Rialto – Australia and New Zealand, Aya Pro – Japan, Scene & Sound – South Korea, Smile – Scandinavia and Iceland, and to 101 Films – UK and North America.

The future of Europe hangs by a thread as fierce battles rage in the skies over southern England. Irishman Brendan Finucane, with his dreams of being a flyer, is one of the first to enlist into the Royal Air Force.

Having his baptism of fire in the Battle of Britain, Brendan proves himself to be a natural born fighter pilot. It is not long before he is given command of 452 Australian Squadron. Under Brendan’s leadership they will become the stuff of legend.

The Shamrock Spitfire chronicles the epic true story of Brendan “Paddy” Finucane, one of the most celebrated fighter aces of World War II and the youngest Wing Commander in the history of the RAF.

The Shamrock Spitfire, which made the official selection at the Cannes World Film Festival 2023, has won a slew of awards including Best Feature Film – Hollywood Gold Awards; Best Picture – New York Movie Awards and Best Picture, Best Biography Film and Best Cinematography Award – New Cinema Festival in Spain.

The film will be released on DVD and digital 11 March 2024

At the International Gold Awards, New York, Emily Outred won Best Actress and Bethany Billy clinched the Silver Award for Best Actress.

In addition, the film produced big wins at the Paris Film Awards, picking up the Best Feature Award, Best Director for Ian and Dominic Higgins, Best Producer for Nigel Martin Davey and John Dawson, and Shane O’Regan received the Best Actor Award. Ian and Dominic Higgins also collected Best Screenplay, Gold Award for Cinematography and the Silver Award for Editing. Best Sound Design went to Alex Hudd and Emily Outred received the Gold Award for Best Actress. At the Frida Film Festival, also in Paris, the film received Best International Film, Best Drama, Best Cinematography and Best Cast Awards.

Ian and Dominic Higgins also picked up the Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects Award at the European Cinematography Awards, Amsterdam, with the film receiving Best Feature Film and Best Actress Award for Sophia Eleni. Most recently the movie was crowned Best War Film at the Dublin Movie Awards.

Starring Shane O’Regan (Control), Chris Kaye (All Creatures Great and Small), Bethany Billy (Pan Tau), Eoin Lynch (Poldark), Emily Outred (Johnny English Strikes Again) and award-winning actor Carl Wharton (White Crow), the film is produced by award-winning film producer Nigel Martin Davey and John Dawson, for Pixel Revolution Films. Trevor Beattie (Moon, Six Minutes to Midnight), co-Founder of Trevor Beattie Films, also acts as executive producer. The film is directed and written by Ian and Dominic Higgins.
