Stop Making Sense is heading back to cinemas with a 4K restoration
Stop Making Sense is one of my favourite concert films of all time and it is so good to hear that it has had 4K restoration. Even better is the fact that all the members of the band will be together on stage at the TIFF World Premiere and Global IMAX Live event on September 11. The film is then out exclusively in IMAX on September 22 across the world and in UK, Canadian and American cinemas on September 29, in a pristine new 4K restoration.
The greatest concert film of all time, Stop Making Sense brings to the screen Talking Heads at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater in December 1983: David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison, alongside an ecstatic ensemble of supporting musicians. Renowned filmmaker Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs) captures the band at their exhilarating best, in this new and complete restoration for the film’s 40th anniversary.
You can book tickets here.
Record label Rhino will also release a new deluxe version of the soundtrack on vinyl and digitally on 18th August. It will include the complete “Stop Making Sense” concert for the first time.
WOW! Tour NOW!
