Bradley Cooper is Leonard Bernstein in the first teaser for Maestro

Maestro is a new film based on the life of Leonard Bernstein. Co-written and directed by Bradley Cooper (A Star Is Born), the film is produced by Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, and Todd Phillips, as well as Cooper. Spielberg was considering directing the film and had approached Cooper to star but offered the director position to Cooper after he watched A Star Is Born.

Maestro is a towering and fearless love story chronicling the lifelong relationship between cultural icon Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein. A love letter to life and art, Maestro, at its core, is an emotionally epic portrayal of family and love.

Leonard Bernstein is considered to be one of the most important conductors of his time and he was the first American conductor to receive international acclaim. His best-known work is the Broadway musical West Side Story. Spielberg directed the most recent film adaption that.

The film also stars Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke and Jeremy Strong.

Maestro In Select Theaters November 22 and on Netflix December 20.
