Gunner – Watch Luke Hemsworth and Morgan Freeman in the trailer for the new action-thriller

Vertigo Releasing has announced that the action-packed thriller Gunner led by Luke Hemsworth and Morgan Freeman will be available to own or rent on digital platforms from December 9th.

Starring Luke Hemsworth and Morgan Freeman, this fast-paced thriller about a father’s unrelenting determination to reunite his family is a tense, pursuit of the clash of two patriarchs. Not above using his skills developed during his time in the special forces, Hemsworth’s Gunner stops at nothing, including working with the enemy, to rescue his sons played by Grant Feely (Obi-Wan Kenobi, Five Nights at Freddy’s) and Connor DeWolfe (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers).

War veteran Colonel Lee Gunner (Hemsworth) takes his two sons on a camping trip with their uncle Jon, to reconnect with them after being at the battle front for so long. The trip goes awry when Jon stumbles over a tripwire and sets off an explosion, alerting a gang of violent bikers in the midst of a massive drug operation. Not anticipating Gunner’s elite combat skills, the gang members are taken out one by one. The boys try to go for help, but end up right in the arms of Dobbs, the son of kingpin Kendric Ryker (Freeman) who runs the organization from prison. With no one but himself to turn to, an enraged Gunner wreaks havoc to rescue his two sons, until he gets to the top and confronts Ryker. You don’t cross Gunner.

Gunner is directed by Dimitri Logothetis (Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxer: Retaliation) and written by Gary Scott Thompson (The Fast and The Furious).

Gunner will be available to own or rent on digital download from 9th December.
