The show is based on the podcast Boomtown, hosted by Christian Wallace and produced by Texas Monthly, Landman explores the West Texas oil boom, where billionaires and roughnecks have been reshaping the economy, climate, and geopolitics of Texas.

Oscar-winner Billy Bob Thornton stars as Tommy Norris, a formidable oil company executive who commands respect on both the oil field and in the boardroom.

Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, LANDMAN is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs.
