Alien: Earth – The new TV series from Noah Hawley gets a teaser trailer
The recent Alien: Romulus film has done well at the box office, and the Alien: Earth show is due out sometime next year. The show is written and directed by Noah Hawley (Fargo, Legion) and is said to be a prequel to the original 1979 Alien film.
A teaser (it is very much a teaser) and new plot synopsis of the show has been released.
When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.
So we know it is set on Earth, but we do not know exactly when it is set – will it be nearer our present day or just a few years before the events of Alien?
That plot does seem reminiscent of 2007’s Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. Will it somehow link in with the Alien vs Predator films? Would we want it to?
The show also stars Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, and Adarsh Gourav.
I am really not sure about this, to be honest. However, I do like Hawley’s other work so fingers crossed this is one of the good ones.
The series is a joint-venture production between 20th Television and Scott Free Productions, and is set to be released on FX on Hulu and Disney+ in 2025.
