The Day of The Jackal – Watch Eddie Redmayne in the trailer for the new series adaptation

A ruthless assassin, the Jackal, (Eddie Redmayne) makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.

The new show is based on the British novel by Frederick Forsyth, which was previously adapted into a 1973 political thriller of the same name, starring Edward Fox and Terence Alexander. There was also a 1997 film called The Jackal, based on the same material, starring Bruce Willis and Richard Gere.

Directed by Brian Kirk, the series stars Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch, Ursula Corbero, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, and Sule Rimi.

The Day of The Jackal hits Peacock on 7th November 2024.
