Watchmen: Chapter 1 – Watch the trailer for the new animated adaptation

Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has released the new trailer for Watchmen: Chapter 1. The animated feature is a faithful adaptation of the groundbreaking graphic novel series by writer Alan Moore and illustrator Dave Gibbons, which redefined the superhero genre when it debuted in the mid-1980s.

J. Michael Straczynski wrote the adaptation and said, “I adapted WATCHMEN for Warners animation. By “adapted” I mean strictly configuring the structure to work in a movie. I saw no need to write more material or change what works in the book. It needs no Moore than that.”

Brandon Vietti directs the two part adaptation. The voice cast includes The voice cast includes Matthew Rhys as Dan Dreiberg and Nite Owl, Katee Sackhoff as Laurie Juspeczyk and Silk Spectre, Titus Welliver as Rorschach and Walter Kovacs, and Michael Cerveris as Jonathan Osterman and Dr. Manhattan. Also voicing characters are Troy Baker, Adrienne Barbeau, Corey Burton, Jeffrey Combs, Kelly Hu and Phil LaMarr.

The film hits digital on 13th August and then 4K UHD and Blu-ray arriving on 27th August.
