Mother, Couch – Ewan McGregor, Rhys Ifans and Lara Flynn Boyle try to get Ellen Burstyn off a couch in the trailer for the new dark comedy
The members of a dysfunctional family find themselves mysteriously trapped in an antiquated furniture store when their elderly matriarch (Ellen Burstyn) suddenly refuses to get up or move from one of their display couches. Reluctantly assembled, her three estranged children – David (Ewan McGregor), Gruffudd (Rhys Ifans), and Linda (Lara Flynn Boyle) – must now figure out how to escape this bizarre predicament. With the help of the two store managers, Marco & Marcus (F. Murray Abraham), and their daughter Bella (Taylor Russell) the three siblings embark on a mind-bending odyssey that forces them to face life-altering truths about their own lives and upbringing.
The film is written and directed by Niclas Larsson. It stars Ewan McGregor, Rhys Ifans, Lara Flynn Boyle, Ellen Burstyn, F. Murray Abraham, Lake Bell, and Taylor Russell.
Mother, Couch opens in NYC on 5th July and LA on 12th July 2024.
