Gyeongseong Creature – Park Seo-jun and Han So-hee unravel a mystery in the teaser for the new Netflix show
Set in the spring of 1945, when Gyeongseong (the old name for Seoul) was in its darkest era, the series depicts the story of people who fight fiercely at the border between life and death.
In the spring of 1945 in Gyeongseong, during the Japanese colonization of Korea, two young adults confront a strange creature born of greed, and battle against it for survival.
Park Seo-jun portrays Jang Tae-sang, the owner of the House of Golden Treasure pawnshop – the wealthiest, most well-connected person in Gyeongseong –, and Han So-hee takes on the role of Yoon Chae-ok, a sleuth with a reputation for the impossible. Together, they delve into the mysterious and tumultuous world of 1945.
The ensemble cast also includes Claudia Kim (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Avengers: Age of Ultron), Kim Hae-sook, Cho Han-cheul, and Wi Ha-jun (Squid Game).
Scripted by Kang Eun-kyung (Dr. Romantic and What Happens to My Family?) and directed by Chung Dong-yoon (Hot Stove League), the series is set to deliver a fusion of historical intrigue, gripping mystery and edge-of-your-seat drama.
The two-part premiere of Gyeongseong Creature sees Part 1 on December 22, 2023, and Part 2 on January 5, 2024, only on Netflix.
