Watch the final trailer for The Marvels

The Marvels features the characters Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau. The film is a sequel to Captain Marvel, a continuation of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel and shows what happened to Monica Rambeau after the events of WandaVision.

In Marvel Studios’ The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels.

Well this trailer actually peaked my interest for the film. Gone is the “wacky hijinks” of the three main characters swapping places every time they use their powers. Instead we get a hint of what the story is actually about. They should have gone with this much earlier in the promotion of the film.

The film is directed by Nia DaCosta from a screenplay she co-wrote with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells. It stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon..

The Marvels hits cinemas on 10th November 2023.
