He takes his long-time girlfriend JJ and some of his friends to check the casino out, and in classic horror movie fashion, it doesn’t come without its fair share of surprises. This casino is run down, filled with dusty cobwebs, and has no electricity. Our protagonist finds out some chilling news about his uncle’s past and that he has inherited this casino on the anniversary of a massacre that killed many people. This movie will have you on the edge of your seat, filled with twists and turns, as we watch Matthew fight with the powers of the past.

2.       “Fright Night” (2011)

This is the perfect Vegas-themed spookfest film you can put on and enjoy with friends. This is a remake of the original 80s film but with a twist. The plot follows high-school senior Charley (played by Anton Yelchin,) one of the famous guys around the school. He is dating Amy (with a terrific performance by Imogen Poots), who is one of the most sought-after girls on campus. With everything going almost too well, Charley runs into trouble when he meets his new neighbor Jerry (played by Colin Farrell.) Charley thinks there’s something not all there with Jerry, and with no one believing him, he has to take matters into his own hands. David Tennant gives a fantastic performance playing an illusionist named Peter, whose character helps send Charley in the right direction when dealing with the Jerry problem. 3.       “Resident Evil: Extinction” (2007)

The third in its series, this movie adds more horror to an already chilling series of spooky films. In this part of the story, Alice (played by Milla Jovovich) has been captured by the Umbrella Corp. Here; she receives a genetic alteration that leaves her with superhuman powers. Based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Alice hides here and later joins forces with some of her former cohorts, such as L.J. (played by Mike Epps) and Carlos (played by Oded Fehr.) Together with more members of her team, they work together to fight a virus that threatens to turn all earthly human beings into a zombie. 4.       “Hostel: Part III” (2011)

Directed by Stephen Spielberg, this is a Vegas cult classic that you will soon become hooked on. The third edition of this series, this movie follows the story of four friends. Out on the Las Vegas strip to attend a bachelor party, things turn wrong when one group member goes missing. This is where the nightmare begins, based on shocking events from the last film, “Hostel: Part II,” released in 2007. Joining forces with their partners, these four victims cross paths with horror, meaning innocent people will suffer.

5.       “Army of the Dead” (2021)

One of the most recent additions to our list of Las Vegas spooky movies, and we’ve saved the best for last. “Army of the Dead” follows the story showing the aftermath of a zombie outbreak that has left Las Vegas destroyed and closed off from the rest of the world. Scott Ward, an ex-Vegas local who now spends his time away from the city flipping burgers, gets approached by a Vegas casino big boss with an offer he can’t refuse. The mission? Breaking into the zombie-infested Vegas quarantine zone and securing the $200 million sitting in a vault underneath the Las Vegas strip. Scott has 32 hours to complete the mission before the US government completely nukes the city. It seems easy, right? You’ll have to watch to find out.
