Keanu Reeves returns for a Constantine sequel

2005’s Constantine is getting a sequel with both Keanu Reeves and director Francis Lawrence returning for the new Warner Bros film.

Reeves has said on a number of occasions that we would love to return to the role of John Constantine and I am so glad he is. I did enjoy the original film, even if Reeves’ Constantine is a little different from the Hellblazer comic books.

There is no word on the plot at the moment, but there are plenty of storylines from the comics that they could use.

Akiva Goldsman is writing the screenplay and will also produce the project through his Weed Road Pictures, alongside Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella.

J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions had been working on a Constantine TV show for HBO Max, but sources tell Variety that the project is now dead.

I just wish we could get a second season of the Constantine TV show that starred Matt Ryan as the titular character.

Who and what would you like to see in the new Keanu Reeves film?
