The Day Shift featurette focuses on the practical effects and stunts in the new Vampire slaying action movie

Jamie Foxx is getting his Blade and John Wick on in the new Day Shift movie.

In Day Shift, Jamie Foxx stars as a hard-working blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income: hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.

This new video looks at the practical stunts, effects and contortionists who are helping bring the film to life. It looks like it will be a lot of fun.

Day Shift is the feature debut for director J.J. Perry, a stunt man and second unit director who has worked on Warrior, Gemini Man, the John Wick and Fast and Furious series, plus other films and TV shows. It stars Jamie Foxx, Dave Franco, Snoop Dogg, Meagan Good, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Karla Souza, Steve Howey, Eric Lange, Oliver Masucci, C.S. Lee, Tetiana Gaidar and Scott Adkins. Chad Stahelski is producing.

“We’re making something that you’ve never seen before,” Foxx promises. “It’s fun – and the stuff that you see is amazing, and it’s practical. We way J.J. uses all of his stuntwomen and men is brilliant so I cannot wait for people to get a dose of this.”
