Tosh – Watch the trailer for the new football documentary
EatSleep Media has shared the new trailer for their first in-house documentary film, Tosh, produced in association with Focus Shift Films and Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment. In celebration of the film’s release, the TOSH Premiere is suitably taking place at Swansea Stadium on 13th May. The film will be released in UK Cinemas from 17th May and then available across Digital Download platforms, DVD & Blu-ray from 6th June.
This is the definitive portrait of John Toshack. Welsh, Liverpool and Swansea legend, and one of football’s most inspirational figures. Relive the unbelievable story of a man who, after leaving European champions Liverpool in 1978, took on struggling Swansea City and guided them on a miraculous journey from fourth, to the first division, in just four years. Discover how this passionate player and manager galvanised a side, and a city, ultimately leading him to a hugely successful managerial career across Europe and latterly with the Welsh national team.
This must-see documentary features exclusive interviews from Toshack himself, and players including Alan Curtis, Wyndham Evans, Jeremy Charles, Nigel Stevenson, David Giles, Ian Callaghan, Leighton James, Danny Bartley, Neil Robinson, Dzemal Hadziabdic, and close relatives of club heroes Robbie James and John Charles. Providing emotional insights from the perspective of Swansea and Liverpool fans alike are club secretary Carol Fowler Sayle, writers Dave Brayley, John Burgum and Darren Chetty, photographer Martin Johnson, rugby legend Sir Gareth Edwards (who once trained with Swansea and played for their reserves), and comedian John Bishop.
The film was directed by lifelong Swansea City fan Pete Jones and was produced by Daniel J. Harris, who commented “Making TOSH has been a real labour of love and an honour. John Toshack achieved so much in football and this is where it all began for him. Pete has been a lifelong Swans fan and lived through these moments, whereas I’m a Cardiff City fan and the new story was new to me. It’s been incredible to bring this story to life and every person we’ve filmed with has had something amazing to say. The film really reflects that period of time in football and I hope that football fans from all quarters will enjoy this beautiful story.”
TOSH will be in UK Cinemas from 17th May and will be available on all major digital platforms and DVD & Blu-ray from 6th June.
