Catherine Tate’s The Nan Movie gets a trailer

The Nan Movie is a feature film based on the character created by Catherine Tate. She co-wrote the film with Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein.

Catherine Tate’s iconic character Nan hits the big screen as she goes on a wild road trip from London to Ireland with her grandson Jamie (Mathew Horne) to make amends with her estranged sister Nell (Katherine Parkinson). Militant vegan arsonists, raucous rugby teams, all-night raves and crazed cops on motorbikes all make for a proper day out.

An origin story that mixes Nan’s present with her past where we finally find out what’s made her the cantankerous old b*****d she is today.

I must admit to being a bit surprised to see this trailer. The Catherine Tate Show was back in 2004-2009 so this seems like an odd one to go back to. Is it just me?

The film also stars Mathew Horne, Katherine Parkinson, Parker Sawyers, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Jack Doolan & Niky Wardley.

The Nan Movie will be released nationwide on 18th March 2022 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
