Rooney Mara to play Audrey Hepburn in a new biopic directed by Luca Guadagnino
Rooney Mara (Carol, Nightmare Alley) will be playing Audrey Hepburn in a new biopic, which will be directed by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name). Mara is also producing the film.
According to THR, Michael Mitnick (The Staggering Girl, The Current War) is writing the film for Apple. No plot details on the film have been revealed.
Hepburn rose to stardom in the romantic comedy Roman Holiday (1953), for which she was the first actress to win an Oscar, a Golden Globe Award, and a BAFTA Award for a single performance. She was nominated for the Academy Award for best actress five times and she remains one of only sixteen people who have won Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Awards.
I wonder if the film will focus on a small-time period of her life or will it cover a number of years? Mara is a great actor and Guadagnino is an excellent director so looks like this could be one to watch out for.
