Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Tony Jaa, 50 Cent, Megan Fox and more to star in The Expendables 4
It has been a while since we last heard talk about a new Expendables movie, but things are now moving ahead on a new movie. For those of you out of the loop, The Expendables are a team of mercenaries led by Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham. They’ve all been a lot of fun and are basically an excuse for Stallone to get in a load of action movie stars to do action movie stuff.
Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lungren, and Randy Couture (who have appeared in the previous three films) are back for the fourth installment from Lionsgate and Millennium Media. They will be joined by Curtis “50” Jackson, Megan Fox and Tony Jaa, according to THR.
Scott Waugh (Need for Speed) is directing the new film, which begins shooting in October.
There are no plot details, but no doubt there will be big guns, lots of explosions, a smattering of car chases, muscles, cheesy one-liners and over-the-top action. However, while previous films focussed on Stallone’s character it seems that the new film will have Statham front and center.
Statham is also producing along with Kevin King Templeton as well as Millennium’s Les Weldon, Yariv Lerner, Jeffrey Greenstein and Jonathan Yunger.
“It’s so much fun to bring these stars together for a no-holds-barred action film,” said Jason Constantine, president of acquisitions and co-productions for the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, in a statement. “The new film will raise the stakes and be the biggest, most badass adventure yet.”
