Yoko Kanno will compose the music for the Cowboy Bebop live-action show
Well, this is great. Yoko Kanno, who composed the oh-so-cool music for the Cowboy Bebop anime, is returning to compose the music for the live-action TV show. For those of you who love the anime, you’ll know just how wonderful and integral his music is to the show.
Cowboy Bebop is the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts, as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world… for the right price.
It was announced in the video below which also shows some of the main cast from the show – John Cho as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black, and Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine.
Alex Garcia Lopez (The Witcher; Marvel’s Daredevil and Marvel’s The Punisher; Utopia) will direct the first two episodes of the ten-episode series for Netflix. Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok) will write the first episode. Shinichiro Watanabe (director of the original anime) is consulting on the show.
The live-action show is due out in autumn.
