Alfred Molina is returning for Spider-Man 3

The multiverse is building for the next Spider-Man live-action movie. We have already heard that Jamie Foxx will be back to play Electro in the Tom Holland led film and now Variety has the news that Alfred Molina will return as Doctor Octopus.

He starred in the role opposite Tobey Maguire in 2004’s Spider-Man 2 movie and was brilliant.

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will also appear. His next film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is directed by Sam Raimi who directed the original Spider-Man trilogy, so I imagine we will get to see many different characters show up in that one. I do wonder if we will see Tom Cruise as Iron Man?

There are also lots of rumours about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield possibly returning, but we shall have to wait and see.

Director Jon Watts is back for the third Spider-Man, with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers writing the script. Zendaya, Marisa Tomei and Jacob Batalon are all reprising their roles from the first two Holland-led “Spider-Man” films. Sony plans to release the film on Dec. 17, 2021.
