Hilary Swank is heading to Mars in the trailer for Netflix’s Away

Two-time Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank (Boys Don’t Cry, Million Dollar Baby, PS I Love You) stars as astronaut Emma Green in 10 episode drama series, Away. Swank will also serve as an executive producer on the series.

As American astronaut Emma Green (Hilary Swank) prepares to lead an international crew on the first mission to Mars, she must reconcile her decision to leave behind her husband (Josh Charles) and teenage daughter (Talitha Bateman) when they need her the most. As the crew’s journey into space intensifies, their personal dynamics and the effects of being away from their loved ones back on Earth become increasingly complex. Away shows that sometimes to reach for the stars, we must leave home behind.

Jessica Goldberg (The Path) is showrunner, writer, and executive producer. Ed Zwick (Nashville, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, The Last Samurai) will direct the first episode and serve as an executive producer.

Andrew Hinderaker wrote the first episode and serve as an executive producer. Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood) will serve as writer and executive producer.

Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Cloverfield, Felicity), Adam Kassan, Michelle Lee (episode 101 only), and Jeni Mulein (for episodes 102-110) are all Executive Producers.

AWAY will launch on Netflix on 4th September 2020.
