Best Fight Scene Ever: Part 9 – Star Wars: The Phantom Menace – The Duel of the Fates

There are quite a few lightsaber battles in the various Star Wars films. However, while The Phantom Menace itself is not one of the best films, it does have the best lightsaber fight scene with Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) going up against Darth Maul (Ray Park).

Now some of you may be saying the Red Throne Room fight scene in The Last Jedi is better. While that initially does look impressive, once I saw some of the red guards spinning, twirling, and jumping in and out of the frame for some reason and hits not connecting I could not unsee them. It all ends up being a bit of a mess. However, if you love that one then that is fine with me.

Without further ado, here is the Duel of the Fates. After that is the fight scene between Ahsoka and Maul in “The Phantom Apprentice” episode from the last season of Clone Wars as Ray Park was back for the motion capture and it is also awesome. Then there is the rematch between Kenobi and Maul from Star Wars Rebels, which I think is absolutely stunning in its simplicity and a brilliant counterpoint to their first battle.
