He reminds me of the babe! Looks like Scott Derrickson is directing a Labyrinth sequel

Scott Derrickson passed on directing Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, but it looks like he has got his next project.

According to Deadline, he will be working with TriStar Pictures to direct the sequel Jim Henson’s 1986 film, Labyrinth. Maggie Levin (Into the Dark, My Valentine) is writing the screenplay.

Not sure how I feel about a sequel.

The original film starred David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. They have got a big codpiece to fill if they’re going to bring back Jareth the Goblin King! May I nominate Tilda Swinton to play the role?

Jennifer Connelly can currently be seen in Netflix’s Snowpiercer show. I could see her back to play the same character all grown up, but there are no plot details available for the sequel.

Lisa Henson of The Jim Henson Company is producing. Brian Henson is executive producing. Derrickson is executive producing with his frequent collaborator C. Robert Cargill.
