Here is our first look at the new TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand
THE STAND is Stephen King’s apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil. The fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors. Their worst nightmares are embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man.
Alexander Skarsgård will be playing the evil Randall Flagg in the new adaptation of The Stand from CBS and Vanity Fair had these first-look images. Not much to go on, but it is looking pretty good and there is a decent cast. I also like the look they are going for with Flagg.
The new adaptation also stars James Marsden (Stu Redman), Amber Heard (Nadine Cross), Odessa Young (Frannie Goldsmith), Henry Zaga (Nick Andros), Whoopi Goldberg (Mother Abagail), Greg Kinnear, Nat Wolff, Heather Graham, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Brad William Henke and Daniel Sunjata.
King has written the series’ tenth and final episode, which will include a new “coda” to the story that wasn’t part of his original 1978 novel.
Be sure to check out the full article over on Vanity Fair as they have interviews with the cast and crew.
