Noah Hawley is set to direct the next Star Trek movie
It had all gone quiet on the Star Trek movie front. Quentin Tarantino has written a script for a Trek movie that may or may not be happening.
Then there had been plans to have Chris Pine’s Kirk team up with the character’s father played by Chris Hemsworth in some more timey-wimey shenanigans. However, that fell through due to negotiations falling apart.
S.J. Clarkson was going to direct the fourth film in the J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie series, but she is no longer attached.
Turns out the film will still be going forward, but now Noah Hawley is attached to write and direct it. Hawley brought us the TV version of Fargo and also the excellent Legion series on FX.
There is no word yet on what the plot for the new film will involve, but I assume the main cast will be returning.
Legion and Fargo have been great so I am curious to see what Hawley will do with a Star Trek movie. I wonder if he will take us into the Mirror universe?
According to THR, Hawley will produce Star Trek 4 via his 26 Keys shingle along with Bad Robot, the production banner run by Abrams.
How do you feel about Hawley directing a new Star Trek film?
