Marvel’s Kevin Feige is developing a new Star Wars movie
It is still early days on this but Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is developing a Star Wars movie with Kathleen Kennedy. Walt Disney Studios co-chairman and chief creative officer Alan Horn confirmed the news to THR.
We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox. With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.
THR goes on to say that this does not suggest that Feige will be moving from Marvel Studios to Lucasfilm, but it is just the producer’s passion for the franchise. Could he end up bringing Robert Downey Jr into Star Wars?
I am more excited about a Kevin Feige Star Wars film than the ones being developed by Rian Johnson and the Game of Thrones showrunners. Feige is, of course, still busy with Marvel Studios so it remains to be seen when things will get moving on this.
Kennedy remains the president of Lucasfilm.
