Spinal Tap will perform for the 35th Anniversary Screening at the Tribeca Film Festival
This is Spinal Tap celebrates its 35th Anniversary this year, while Reality Bites turns 25!
Both films will both be screened at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York along with conversations involving their directors and cast members.
While Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins and Derek Smalls are unable to make the festival it seems that Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer will perform as themselves in tribute to the fictional band Spinal Tap.
“Spinal Tap proves there is definitely a fine line between stupid and clever,” said director, co-writer and star Rob Reiner.
Reality Bites starred Winona Ryder, Ethan Hawke, Janeane Garofalo, Steve Zahn, and Ben Stiller, who also directed.
Stiller had this to say about the film. “Reality Bites was a formative experience in my life. To have a 25-year anniversary screening is very exciting. Looking forward to seeing the whole cast, and possibly changing the ending so Michael gets Lelaina.”
Dates have not yet been confirmed, but the Tribeca Film Festival runs from April 24 to May 5 2019. Passes are available here.
