John Wick’s Chad Stahelski is going to direct a Sandman Slim adaptation

I love Richard Kadrey’s Sandman Slim series of books so it is great to hear that a film adaptation is moving ahead. There have been plans to make this since 2016, but now Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick films, has been brought on board to direct.

Life sucks and then you die. Or, if you’re James Stark, you spend eleven years in Hell as a hitman before finally escaping, only to land back in the hell-on-earth that is Los Angeles.

Now Stark’s back, and ready for revenge. And absolution, and maybe even love. But when his first stop saddles him with an abusive talking head, Stark discovers that the road to absolution and revenge is much longer than you’d expect, and both Heaven and Hell have their own ideas for his future.

Resurrection sucks. Saving the world is worse.

That’s all we really know about the film so far, but huge amounts of potential for a fantastic film series.

Kerry Williamson (What Happened to Monday), will adapt the novel. A previous draft was written by Kel Symons according to Deadline.

LBI Entertainment’s Patrick Walmsley and Julie Yorn are producing with John Lesher.

Who would you like to see play James Stark?
