Russell Crowe teases a possible Master and Commander sequel
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is an excellent 2003 movie by Peter Weir that was set in the Napoleonic Wars. It was adapted from three novels in author Patrick O’Brian’s Aubrey–Maturin series, which includes 20 completed novels of Jack Aubrey’s naval career. The film starred Russell Crowe as Jack Aubrey, captain in the Royal Navy, and Paul Bettany as Dr. Stephen Maturin.
The film was nominated for 10 Oscars and won Best Cinematography and Best Sound Editing.
It cost $150 million to make and made $212 million worldwide. That was disappointing to the studio and the planned sequels never happened.
However, it seems there is a chance we may get another one as Russell Crowe shared this:
For the Aubrey Maturin lovers , I do hear whispers indeed that a second voyage is perhaps potentially pre-proposed a possibility . So O’Brian affectionate’s and aficionados , let @20thcenturyfox know of your pleasure . pic.twitter.com/HqyE8y15Uu

Most definitely a tease, there is no way to know how far along this is or whether Crowe is testing the waters. I for one would like a sequel to the original film so fingers crossed it happens.
